Adolescents

The most common trait of adolescents is extreme self-consciousness. Developmentally, your teen is in hormonal change until the age of 20. Physiological changes, social pressure, academics, and family conflict often contribute to their inability to cope. Depression, poor academic performance, social stress, and family conflict issues are addressed in therapy.

Individual Therapy

Therapy addresses relational issues, mood disorders, grief & loss, adjustment, single parenting, career conflict, self-esteem, and divorce. Hope is restored as options are considered and new patterns of thinking are explored. Feeling better is possible as you are willing to risk change and let go of self-defeating beliefs. A therapeutic treatment plan is designed to suit each client’s needs and personality. Core values, forgiveness, boundaries, and assertiveness are included in restoring self-esteem and higher functioning. Therapy is confidential, interactive, and solution-focused.

Family Therapy

Negative changes within the family structure can disrupt feelings of safety and security that are common in a healthy functioning family unit. Working with the family as a whole while addressing the needs of each individual can help restore feelings of anger and betrayal. Every member is encouraged to actively participate in bringing the unit back together as a healthy and functioning family.

Couples Counseling

Restoring healthy relationships involves healing from hurtful life events and unresolved conflicts. Goals are set in the first session to restore hope and better quality of life through a solution-focused approach.

Divorce Counseling

Divorce counseling is a useful means of ending the marriage peacefully and is recommended when the non-initiator of the divorce, requests marriage counseling. In divorce counseling the initiator is provided with a safe setting to tell the other spouse why his or her decision is irrevocable.
